On Thursday we went with my parents to the Cowboys game. This was what we got my dad for his birthday in May as well as Father's Day. We sat one section close than we sat last year when we went to the game. Our seats were fabulous!!! Here is a picture from our seats:
We had a great time at the game and the Cowboys won in the last minute of the game! Before the game we went to the pro shop so I could get a Cowboys shirt for me and a onesie for Carter. Riley wore his jersey to school that day, but I don't think he liked it very much! He complained at first, but then seemed to be okay with it.
It was a great start to the Labor Day weekend as we had A LOT of manual labor ahead of us! It was swing set installing weekend!!! Riley was very excited starting Friday and could not quite comprehend that it would not be ready when he got home from school on Friday night.
On Friday night we started by prepping the ground. We had a whole patios worth of flagstones to dig up from the ground and 30 bags of top soil and pine bark nuggets to move from my Dad's trailer to the backyard. It was pretty exhausting and we worked until we couldn't see any longer that night and then my parents headed home to get ready for another long day of work. Here is the playset area the first night with some of the flagstones loosened, but not moved:

On Saturday we were out working by 9am and by a little after lunch time we had the top soil down and the main base of the playset constructed:
In between his naps and playing Riley helped us put the playset together using his power tools he got from Uncle Blake & Aunt Rebecca for his birthday:
We laughed when we realized that the playset had bay windows (how fancy!):
At the end of Saturday we had the main fort part of the playset constructed when we stopped for the day. We started again on Sunday and by early evening we just had the pine bark nuggets left to place for ground cover:
And here was our finished playset!!!
I have never been so happy and so proud of something in my yard! A HUGE thank you goes out to my parents for helping both watch the kids and constructing and working just as hard as Chad & I did.
It was crazy being outside so much and as you can see in the below picture of Riley we all got our share of bug bites this weekend, but it was worth it!

On Monday we relaxed around the house in the morning and then met up with Grammy at Lucile's for lunch. We postponed from Sunday because we were still working. Lucile's is quite a different place on a Monday at lunch! The place was practically deserted!
On Monday afternoon we invited Grandmommy, Haha, Uncle Blake, Aunt Rebecca, Aunt Kate, Elizabeth and Zachary over to grill and play on the playset. We had a great time although Elizabeth has reached her clumsy toddler stage and she had many mishaps all evening. Here were Liz & Riley sharing juice boxes on the back porch:

And the holiday was not complete until Carter took a turn on his swing!
Speaking of Carter he was not feeling well all weekend. He started having diarrhea on Friday and by Saturday evening it was pretty bad. I called the nurse at the doctor on Sunday and we tried to give him Pedialyte and bland foods along with his formula, but by Monday it was worse and he was refusing the Pedialyte, so I called the nurse back and we switched him to a special soy formula for babies with diarrhea as well as some organic rice cereal with probiotics in it. Needless to say, he's not a big fan and is not eating as much as he usually does, nor is he sleeping that good cause he keeps having blow outs in his crib and I think is just plain hungry! It's all been messy and gross and I can't wait to get to the bottom of this!
On a happier note, I have been cooking some more this past week and made a pretty good veggie stew over the weekend, although we all agreed it needed meat! And then tonight I made some zucchini bread! It's almost as good as Chad's favorite zucchini bread from Feastivities and even Riley loved it, calling it "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" or sometimes "Lummy" as he says that is what his friend Keller says!
