The Saturday before Christmas we were invited by the Loveladys to go to Sugar Rush at KWC. The boys had a great time. Riley saw Santa and they both ate copious amounts of candy! And then we got to watch the show!
At Sugar Rush Riley got a pair of reindeer antlers and that night the boys had a blast pretending they were Santa on his sleigh delivering toys with one of his reindeer.
The next day we were able to Skype with our dear friends from Germany Katharina & Lucas and their adorable baby, Hannes. We were excited to tell them that after months of searching we were finally able to secure frequent flier miles seats to bring the boys to Germany this summer to visit them! We are so excited!!
The Sunday before Christmas I spent the day baking Grammy's Christmas cookies. I made 4 total batches over the holiday season and each batch improved each time. We made enough to share with all our new neighbor friends and Chad & Riley played Santa's elves and delivered all the cookies.
On Christmas Eve we finished up some stocking stuffer shopping in the morning and then went to Nana & Papa's in the afternoon.
Chad kept our Christmas Eve tradition alive by making Grammy's tacos. YUM!
After we all had full bellies, it was present time!
We got Nana & Papa an Apple TV and a year subscription to Netflix and they are already enjoying it!
Memaw and Uncle Jimmy were even there to enjoy Christmas Eve with us this year!
Christmas morning was a blast at home. The boys were very excited about their gifts and we had a great time opening them together!
Riley made a special Christmas video for Liz with his new penguin, Pengsy.
We went to Grandmommy & Haha's for lunch, followed by even more present opening. So loved and spoiled!
And we finished up a great Christmas Day by heading to Michele and Art's for one last family celebration. Aunt Jannice was sweet to bring crafts for the boys to do while the adults did a white elephant gift exchange.
The Friday after Christmas Chad & I introduced the boys to the movie, Home Alone. They were initially concerned about why Kevin's parents left him home alone, but by the time we got to the part where Kevin outsmarts the robbers they were laughing hysterically!
To give you an idea of what we deal with most night with Carter here is some video I took of him postponing sleep. Also, I have no idea where he learned the word "barbarian"
We had gorgeous weather on Saturday so we took the boys for a family bike ride. We rode to Gramdmommy & Haha's and back and Carter rode his big boy bike for the first time ever. We had taken him to get new shoes a few days earlier and poor boy was in a 9, but went up to a 10.5. No wonder he always took his shoes off when he came in. We told him that his big boy shoes were perfect for his big boy bike and off he went. Chad got me a bike for Christmas so it was so much fun to go riding together as a family.
That evening we went to the Lovelady's to exchange Christmas presents and also to celebrate Liz's 5th birthday. Here she is wearing both her Christmas and birthday presents. Adorable!
We all went to dinner together and at dinner Carter was falling asleep, but after dinner Kate & Jason took the kids to Pop N Cream and boy did Carter perk back up!
Yesterday, after a birthday celebration sleepover we joined the kids and Kate for a breakfast celebration and made sure to finally sing "Happy Birthday" to Liz.
