After much heartbreak and discussion we decided to let Carter drop soccer. He had absolutely NO interest in playing on the field with a team or listening to his coach. After sitting the sidelines at his last practice (see below) and begging us not to make him go to practice and choosing a consequence (time out) instead of participating in practice, we decided to cut our losses and move on. Sad, but it sure will make our lives less stressful.

Before Chad & Riley left for Italy, Riley got to go to his friend's Mason and Cory's birthday party. They had a gaming truck parked in front of their house and the boys got to play videogames on comfy sofas for the first part of the party. Super fun!
Right after Carter and I dropped Riley & Chad at DFW for their departing flight, we went to Cara's Birthday Party at Rollerland West. This was the first skating party where Carter put on rollerskates and skated. He only skated for about 3 minutes, but progress is progress!
Carter and I had some great one-on-one time the week of Spring Break. We both got to sleep in everyday too because Nana came over to get Carter most mornings. On Monday the weather was beautiful and after Carter had a fish stick dinner (photo below) we walked to Esperanza's for Nana & I to get dinner and Carter talked us into letting him have a 2nd dinner. Stinker!
Carter mostly played with his Legos and watched movies over his Spring Break. Below is a Lego crocodile he made.
He also really likes making letters with Legos and then asking you what the letters are and what sound the make. See his lowercase "L" and "i" below.
On Tuesday Nana & Carter ended up back at Nana's house for the afternoon and when I got there to pick him up he was riding his trike in circles around the house.
Tuesday night, Nana & Papa joined us for dinner at Red Robin, followed by a trip to Barnes & Noble, where Carter picked out Frozen books for himself and Riley.
We then went to Braum's because after seeing photos of Riley & Chad enjoying gelato, we wanted so sweet treats of our own.
This is Carter posing with his chocolate ice cream mustache. Very serious stuff!
I was a bit lonely that night because Carter wanted to sleep at Nana & Papa's so I let both dogs sleep in my bed. Spoiled!!
Niki also got very frightened by some storms on Saturday and got spoiled some more by crawling in my lap and suggling under a blanket because she was scared.
Carter and I also enjoyed some popcorn while being basically rained in on Saturday. It was a nice calm day before Chad & Riley came home on Sunday.
Last night Riley had his 1st Grade Program at Lily B. It was called Goin' Buggy and Riley told us specifically where to sit and was very proud because he had a line in the show. We were sitting in the 2nd row and Carter kept yelling to Riley between songs and waving. So sweet! Riley did such good job standing at the microphone and saying his line. I was very proud of him.
We picked Riley up in his classroom and took some photos with his teacher. We love her and are so happy he is in her class.
