Mini Camp 2011

This week Riley started his first camp at Kids Who Care. It was a week-long mini musical theatre camp. Sunday was the orientation for the parents and Riley was really scared and almost in tears when we got out of the car. You wouldn't know it from this picture, but he was plenty nervous!

Each day was a themed dress up day. Monday was Favorite Color Day so Riley wore his green frog shirt. He's the one in this picture who doesn't have his hands up the in the air.

Tuesday was Crazy Hair Day and Riley did not want to participate. Wednesday was Prince and Princess Day and Riley was more than happy to wear a crown I had bought him, but he kept telling everyone it was a king's crown! No lowly princedom for King Riley! He even wore his crown to Haha's on Wednesday afternoon to watch movies.

After movie time Riley had a teeball game. Grandmommy, Haha and Papa were there and even Memaw was in town and got to come!

Thursday was SuperHero Day and Riley wore his Superman shirt and his yellow cape. He looked great! That day they took a group camp shot. Riley is dead center on Kate's lap.

On Thursday night as Riley was taking a bath I heard him sing a line from a Kids Who Care song that I recognized. I was so excited and got him to sing this much of it on video:

Friday was Crazy Sock Day. I tried to put rainbow socks on Riley, but he would not have it, so he just wore white socks. At camp they were split into teams and Riley's team was the Purple Horses. You can see them here. Riley's in yellow, not making the horse sign.

Yesterday morning we missed tee ball because Riley had his final camp performance. He did really well and went onstage every time he was supposed to. He didn't do all of his choreography, but he was one of the youngest at camp, so we won't hold that against him. He was really proud of himself and we were proud of him. Afterwards we went to lunch at Lucile's to celebrate! Then home for naps before we went to Addison's birthday party. We had a lot of fun there and then headed home for dinner, baths and bedtime.

Today we spent the morning at home, doing laundry and playing before Chad went to work and we met Grammy & Nana at Lucile's (yes, again!) for lunch. Grammy is doing so well and will actually get to start radiation soon. Please keep her in your prayers as this will most likely be tougher than the chemo.
