Roommates are not all they're cracked up to be

Last week Holden's mom sent me the following pictures on Carter & Holden on the playground. They were twins in grey shorts and red shirts! The first picture is them on the little playground intently watching Riley and wanting to be on the big playground with him!

And here's Holden hugging on his BFF Riley! Sweet!

I love that Carter has such a great bud to go to school with and who also lives so close to us!

Saturday was Riley's last teeball game and afterwards there was a swim party at Aiden's house. Riley did great at his last game and the swimming party was a lot of fun and all the kids on the team got cute little trophies! It was our first time to swim this summer and Riley didn't really want to get in the big pool, but Carter did! He even laid on his back in the water and let me swing him around by his arms! Little fish!

On Sunday I took Riley up to the theatre to see the Kids Who Care performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It was amazing! They put the whole show together in 11 days and Zak who played Joseph and Alicia who played the Narrator were sooo good! Riley loved it too and was really sad when I told him that was the last performance. He wanted to see it again! We were excited to see lots of friends at the show too. My BFF Tracy was there with her family and Riley's friend Mitchell was there also. Riley also loved looking for his camp counselor from mini camp, Brittany, who was a dancer in the show. He kept saying "Where's Brittany" throughout the whole show!

On Monday night my cousin Will and his mom, Cindy were in town and we got together for dinner with them. Will is getting so tall and growing up (16 year old now) and it was good to see Cindy, who I hadn't seen in about 11-12 years.

Riley also started swim lessons this week. My mom is taking him to Keller to one of the teacher's houses that she teaches with who teaches swim lessons in the summer. Riley is doing really well and we are going to do another week of lessons in July. He has never been a big fish, but he's learning and that's half the battle. And finally, we are prepping the house for Katharina and Lucas to visit from Germany. They get here on Monday and we are so excited for them to come. We convinced Riley to let them use his room and on Friday we moved Riley's stuff upstairs so he can share a room with Carter. Riley has been really good about it all and says that his room looks "special" for Katharina and Lucas. But it's been 5 nights so far and the going to bed part is not getting easier yet. To add to it all, Carter is teething and he has been really cranky about bedtime, so each night is tough to get them both settled and asleep without one or the other crying or throwing a fit. I'm hoping it gets easier, but apparently my boys like their routines and having their own rooms, so I am really glad that this change is not permanent!
