Last Friday Riley got to have a Birthday Slumber Party at the Lovelady House. The Loveladys were very sweet to not want to leave Carter out, so they invited him over as well. They all had a lot of fun and the next morning Chad & I went over and joined them for breakfast. Riley had such a great time that he did not want to come home afterwards and wanted to stay at the Loveladys all day.
On Saturday night we went out to dinner at Japanese Palace for Grammy's Birthday. Carter was really hungry and scarfed down shrimp and rice and even Riley ate pretty well. He really wanted to go outside and look at the fish in the ponds in front of the restaurant. He kept sticking his hands in the water, trying to catch the fish. Then he cried on the way home because he didn't catch a fish. He was really upset and wanted to go fishing the next day. When I told him that Haha was in Colorado with all the fishing supplies he then cried that he wanted to go to Colorado!
On Sunday night we went over to Grammy's for tacos. Dana and Jill were in town all weekend and Dana and Chad shared the taco cooking responsibilities. The boys had a lot of fun playing with Jake's old toys and they were both obsessed with this pink rocking chair in Grammy's living room.
On Tuesday I got a call from the boys' school that they thought Carter had hand/foot/mouth disease and I needed to take him to the doctor to confirm. They also thought Zachary had it, so Chad ended up picking up both little guys from school. I took Carter to the doctor and they confirmed the school's suspicion. The good thing is that neither boy was running a fever and therefore, neither one was contagious any longer and could go back to school. Carter is covered in red dots on his diaper area, feet, legs, hands, arms, ears and face. The good thing is that it's a little like chicken pox in that once you get it, you hopefully won't get it again and even though it looks awfuyl, it's not really that painful. The bad thing is we had family pictures scheduled for Saturday and we had to postpone them!
Randomly, here's a shot of Chad and the boys doing one of Chad's favorite things: sharing milkshakes for dessert while sitting on the kitchen floor.
