My Nephew Wyatt

A week ago today was Good Friday and the boys' school was closed, so they got to spend the day with Nana & Papa.  Carter had a great time watching The Polar Express from his playhouse in the front room. 

Chad & I both worked, but we got off early so we could get started on a home improvement project.  We bought our house almost 8 years ago and for 8 years we have had a dirt backyard.  The people we bought the house from planted mondo grass and it never grew together and Chad and I have debated many options from a deck to a cement patio and laying sod turned out to be the cheapest, fastest option to make our backyard look a lot better.  Here is what our backyard looked like before:

We rented a tiller and Chad tilled the entire backyard.  We had saved a lot of flagstones from when we put up the playset and we pulled up even more to till the ground.  The big debate on Friday night was where to put the table area of flagstone and eventually Chad and I decided to just extend the existing flagstone out and make a larger patio and to go from two paths to the play area down to one.  By Friday night we had all the backyard tilled and the flagstones re-laid.  Saturday morning we started laying sod bright and early.  We even had enough sod that Chad was able to till a weedy area between our sidewalk and curb in the front yard and re-sod that and we were also able to till and sod our sideyard.  By Saturday afternoon we were finished and our new and improved backyard looks amazing!

We spent Saturday night at home enjoying the backyard.  We ordered pizza and ate it in the backyard for dinner.

The boys even got to light some sparklers with Chad to end the evening!  What a celebration!

Sunday was Easter and the Easter Bunny managed to come to our house very early!  After we got dressed for church and ate breakfast, the boys got to hunt eggs.

 This year there was a golden egg and Riley found it.  The Easter Bunny was generous and hid $20 in the egg so Riley got to pick out a new toy the next day.

We went to the new contemporary service at church and we got to hear Haha play guitar in the service.  Carter also spent the service with us, instead of going to the nursery, which was nice.  After church we picked up fried chicken and headed to Grandmommy & Haha's for Easter lunch.  The kiddos got to egg hunt again, right away.

Riley was still hunting, but Carter called it quits to start looking through his eggs.

Carter ended up eating only jellybeans for lunch and we finally had to hide them from him so he would not get sick!

After lunch the "big kids" got to egg hunt at Grandmommy & Haha's and that was a lot of  fun.  Then we headed home for naps before heading to Nana & Papa's for dinner.  Steve, Alison, Kly and Brayden were there too and the little guys all got to egg hunt together.

Again Carter called it quits early in the hunt to check out his eggs.

Riley became such a pro at egg hunting that his basket started getting VERY full!

And still all Carter cared about was the candy!

Fast forward to Wednesday.  My sister-in-law Rebecca was induced, however she was not progressing, so that evening they did a c-section and my nephew Wyatt was born that evening.

Last night we went to the hospital to visit Blake, Rebecca and Wyatt.  Riley and Carter were excited to meet their cousin.

 Isn't he so adorable???

The boys were very excited to hold their baby cousin and Carter was very gentle with him.  Riley kept asking if Wyatt had eyeballs because he was asleep the whole time we were there.

I am super excited to be an official AUNT because Blake and Rebecca were my only hope in that department!  I've gotten a little teary talking about it over the past couple of weeks because I am so excited about it.  I love that Wyatt it a little bit closer in age to Carter then Riley is to Carter so I know it will be fun to watch them all grow up and play together.

I love you Wyatt and I'm so blessed to be your aunt!
