Two weeks of posts all wrapped up in one.
Riley had his first soccer practice two weeks ago. He's playing with 2 boys he knows and 7 boys he doesn't know. Seems like a good crowd and he's having fun so far.
Carter was super sad not to get to play with Riley's soccer ball.
Luckily, Carter had a birthday last weekend and so we got to celebrate multiple times. Our first celebration was on Thursday night (2 days before his birthday) because Chad was going out of town the next day and wanted to watch Carter open his presents.
Carter loves teensy tiny things and Chad found this tiny kitchen set for Carter. He loves it!
Riley got a free dress day for bringing Box Tops for Education last Friday and he decided to wear his Dallas FD shirt that the O'Keefe's got him. I took this photo to show them. Riley's class also won Box Tops this month and got a popsicle party yesterday.
Every six months I have to get my engagement ring and wedding band inspected and I took them in last Friday only to find out that some diamonds in my wedding band were loose and they had to send it off for repair. Feel so naked with just the one ring.
On Friday night I had Kate, Marisa and Jessica over to help me count Box Tops. We had a great time, counted over 3,000 Box Tops and ate some yummy food while drinking wine.
On Saturday Nana & I took the boys to the zoo. It was cold, but thankfully sunny and we had a great time. Riley was in a posing mood and wanted to pose with all the golden animal statues around the zoo.
On Saturday night Carter got to have his birthday sleepover at the Lovelady's. The next morning Aunt Kate made pancakes and Carter got to open his presents.
Riley had a list of activities for everyone. One of them was playing hide and seek. This is Zachary "hiding" under a blanket.
On Sunday night Nana, Papa, the boys & I went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. Earlier in the day the boys got haircuts and we went to Red Robin for lunch.
Carter used up almost every one of his tokens on this ledge game. He did win over 100 tickets this way though!
Nana made cupcakes and we sang to Carter.
On Monday I took Carter to his 3 year old well check. He was 38" tall (70%) and 35.6 lbs (85%). Riley was just slightly shorter and lighter at this age (37 3/4" and 32.6 lbs.) He did great at the doctor. Peed in the cup and did not cry at the funger stick. What a trooper!
On Wednesday night the boys spent the night with Grandmommy and Haha, which was a godsend because I was feeling sick. Cold or allergies or a combination of both. I'm still pretty under the weather.
At the sleepover they boys made an awesome bed tent!
Chad was in Atlanta for the week designing an opera for Atlanta Opera and he sent us these shots of his lighting work. Great job!
Chad also bought Riley some new Skylanders figures while he was in Atlanta and he had fun texting Riley each day the adventures of Chop Chop.
Chad also got sick while he was gone with the flu and Chop Chop helped him take his temperature.
Chop Chop also brought home a friend, Drill Sargeant.
We were so happy yesterday when Chad got home.
This morning Riley had his first soccer game. It's at the same FWYSA socer fields in Benbrook that Jake used to play soccer on. It was super cold (temps in the 30s) so we were all bundled up. At least it was sunny! Riley is #5.
Aunt Kate got this amazing action shot of Riley! I love it!
And last, but not least, some artwork from the week. First one is Riley's "city" with a haunted house. The second one is Carter's "molehog" which for some reason is what he calls a groundhog and he's been obsessed with them since Groundhog's Day.
